President Muhammadu
Buhari has saluted the Super Falcons of Nigeria for defeating Banyana Banyana
of South Africa 1 – 0 to qualify for the final of the 2016 African Women Cup of
Nations.
The President, in his
twitter handle, on Tuesday night, said the Super Falcons had made Nigeria proud
again.
According to him, the
country looks forward to their final match with Cameroon on Saturday.
He said: “Our Super
Falcons have made Nigeria proud again. The entire country looks forward to the
2016 African Women Cup final on Saturday.’’
Desire Oparanozie
scored the only goal of the match in the 53rd minute, after a goalless half
time.
The Super Falcons will
now be moving to Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaounde for the Saturday’s
Championship final with Cameroon, who had earlier defeated Ghana by a lone
goal.
